Autumn Term

Autumn One

Robin Hood

During this half term we have been learning about local history and Robin Hood. As part of this topic we have explored what it would have been like to live in Medieval times by looking at homes, clothing and food during that time. To extend our learning we visited Sherwood Forest in Edwindstowe where we were met by Sir Robert of Wentworth who guided the children around Sherwood Forest.

Autumn Two

During this half term we have been learning all about Space. We read the 'Man on the Moon' book series by the author Simon Bartram and this inspired some excellent instruction writing on how the children would clean the moon. We then wrote about an alien encounter and produced our own stories using The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers.

Before Christmas, all of Key Stage One worked very hard to perform our western themed nativity - Prickly Hay. Here are a small selection of pictures from our outstanding performance.
