Our Reading Challenge

Our Reading Challenge

To encourage reading we have Reading Tracks across the school, this is to help motivate children to read at home and reward them for their efforts. Each time your child reads at home please jot it down in their reading diary, just a date and initial will do.  Diaries will be checked regularly at school, at least once a week, and for each day during which they have read at home,  they will move a place further along the reading track display in their classroom. At 15 and 25 they will receive a prize in class and when they reach 50 they will win a book, which will be chosen and presented during an assembly at the end of each term. In addition each time during a term that a child reaches 50 on the reading track they will have their name placed in a prize draw to win a trip to Waterstones with spending money.

Here are some of our Reading Challenge displays.
