The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum from 2013 - 2014 to improve provision of PE and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school head teachers.
This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
This money equates to £8000 per school per year plus an additional £5 per child. For us that equates to approx. £10,300 of additional funding to improve PE and school sport.
This money will be used across the whole school to try and improve all aspects of PE and sport.
