School Sports Premium Funding

The future of sport and PE at Morven Park

The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of PE and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport - will be allocated to primary school head teachers.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

This year this money equates to £16000 per school per year plus an additional £10 per child. For us that equates to approx. £20,600 of additional funding to improve PE and school sport.

This money will be used across the whole school to try and improve all aspects of PE and sport.

The aims of this spending will be to:

  • To improve the provision of PE at Morven Park Primary School
  • To ensure PE provision is judged as good/outstanding by external monitoring
  • Broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to pupils
  • To develop a love of sport and physical activity
  • To make PE provision at Morven Park sustainable for the future

A breakdown of how the money will be spent can be downloaded below.
